London 4ASO 2016

London 2 – 5 May 2016 for the pupils of 4 aso

On 2 May at 7 o’clock a.m. the wonderful trip of KTA Bruges to London started. It may have been early for quite a few of us, but that didn’t hold us back to go hard from the start! We were more than ready for this! The moment we arrived at Dover was something many of us had never experienced.
For the first part of the day we split up in two groups. The first group experienced the atmosphere of Camden Town, the other one visited the Emirates Stadium. In the second part we had to orientate ourselves through the whole city of London in groups of 5 or 6 pupils, from Covent Garden to London Eye to Piccadilly Circus and the list goes on. One of our tasks was to take selfies doing different things such as planking and to learn a non-native Dutch speaker say this incredibly hard sentence (even for us!) ‘Ronny Rups raspt rap rode Londense radijsjes .’!!! We ended the day with a relaxing boat trip on the Thames.

The next day we had to get up early with a busy, but bright day ahead of us. We had a tour at the Globe Theatre, Borough Market and the British Museum waiting for us. At around 7 o’clock p.m. we had some free time in Soho and China Town, which meant shopping time for the most of us (definitely the girls)! Our biggest challenge of the day was to understand our Chinese waiter in the Chinese restaurant we ate. Well, that was hard! After explaining a few times what we wanted to order for dinner, we found out that the circle in the middle could actually spin. So we could share all the food we had ordered. We laughed so hard when we all tried to eat with chopsticks (that’s a challenge!) and ate the most spicy chicken in the whole world! After our dinner, we all headed back to the hotel for our last night in London.

On the third and last day we made a beautiful two hour walk that started at the London Eye and came to an end near Hyde Park. These were our last hours in London, so we could choose how we wanted to spend them. We could go to Harrods, The Natural History Museum, The Science Museum or just simply have a quick bite and enjoy the beautiful weather. And as unbelievable as it may sound we all ended up at the same place to start the afternoon, Mc Donald’s. The whole place was filled with pupils of KTA Bruges. On the way back home we were all quite tired to be honest, but we could not believe that the trip that we were all so excited for was already coming to end. That didn’t stop us from enjoying our last moments together on the bus. We played ‘truth or dare’, listened to music, tried to make music ourselves (beatboxing, we learnt our skills from a beatboxer on the streets of London), we shared a chat and a laugh. We could not be happier! On behalf of all the pupils we want to thank the teachers for those three absolutely incredible days! We will definitely remember this trip for a very long time.

Three days filled with lots of joy, laughter and friendship.
